Sinful Colors: 2012 Cast Away Collection Review & Swatches (Picture Heavyyy)

Good morning!

As promised on my Facebook page, here are the 8 nail polishes from the Sinful Colors Cast Away Collection. There's quite a bit to cover, so let's jump into it! ;)

Note: I took into account many of your recommendations to better my blog and the main suggestions I had were to enlarge my pictures. I'm loving how easier it is to view each picture, hope you guys like it too! Remember, all photos on my blog posts are clickable!

1112 Olympia

This makes my top 4 list from this collection. Olympia is a soft, sea foam green. If you've ever had split pea soup, this may look similar. This was pretty streaky on the first coat, but evened out after an additional coat. Perfect for Spring/Easter!

982 Be Happy

Hmmm, I'm guessing this is a re-promote as the name and number has no relation to the collection. Anyone know? Anyway, Be Happy is a pale, blue that leans to a light grey. It's a bit difficult to describe. This was also tricky to apply and was very streaky after the first coat. This was two coats.

1107 Greek Isles

I'm gonna get straight to it, this was absolutely horrible to apply. I'm not sure if it's just my bottle, but, this was a thick mess. This is a pale aqua that is a combination of Be Happy and Athens(next pciture). If they were to be mixed, Greek Isles, or something similar would appear.

1113 Athens

A teal with a hint of greyish green. Application was perfect after 2 coats. No problems here. IMO, Be Happy, Greek Isles, and Athens are pretty dupeable and unfortunately does not draw my attention after application.

1109 Grecian Sun

A vibrant, corn flower blue that was perfect after 2 coats. I could have gotten away with 1 coat if I were more careful. I love blues of this hue, it's very clean and crisp IMO. ;)This also makes my top 4. LOVE!

1114 Neptune

Neptune is a blurple meets grey infused with silver micro shimmers. It definitely reminds me of a more amplified version of OPI's I Have a Herring Problem from the Holland Collection I showed you all a few weeks back. You know, now that I think of it, I actually prefer this over IHAHP. This was 2 effortless coats. Neptune also makes my top 4 list. Stunning!

1108 Zeus

Rounding up my top 4 is this baby! Zeus is a gorgeous dusty lilac with a soft, pink opalescent shimmer. This was 2 coats and application was like buttah! ;) Beauty!

1110 Pandora

Lastly, my least favorite from this collection. :/ As many of you all know I'm not a huge fan of salmon/apricot granny colors. Again, I don't mean this in a negative way, but my grandma owns many of nail polishes from similar to this hue. This is probably the one color I absolutely refuse to wear. I will give it this, application was perfect after 2 coats.

Overall, I only liked 4 colors from this collection. However, I do think SinfulColors did a great job with the names and the overall idea of this collection. Formula varied from each polish. Some were either streaky or thick. On the other hand, they offered 4 unique colors that I am very pleased to add to my ever growing nail polish stash. ;)

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of Red Cherry lashes. I don't have them readily available in my area, so anytime I randomly find some, I snatch one up immediately! I love false lashes(natural), in general!

Sinful Colors: Cinderella

At last, Cinderella is officially added to my Sinful Colors stash!

If you follow my Facebook page, I said: "Geeeeez! Am I the last person on Earth to find Sinful Colors Cinderella?! LOL #determined"

Well, my lovelies, I have finally spotted it at a random Walgreens and snagged one right away!

There's been sooo much talk around the blog-o-sphere about Cinderella, let's see if it lives up to the hype! ;)

Cinderella - 3 coats

If you've read my posts from way back, you know that I'm not a huge fan of nail polishes that take 3-4 coats for full opacity, but can I just say, isn't she just beautiful?! LOL. If it's beautiful and unique, I'll put in the extra effort!

Cinderella is a pale, light blue beauty infused with opalescent shimmer/flecks. The first coat was very sheer, so I imagine 3-4 coats would make this opaque. Perhaps a base color similar to Cinderella would help speed up the process.

Overall, yes, it has definitely lived up to the hype! (IMO) I own nothing similar to my stash and looks clean and fresh on the nails.

Del Sol Color Changing Nail Polishes: Review & Swatches (Picture Heavyyy)

Good morning, everyone! Hope you all had a happy and safe weekend! :) It's just another manic Monday here at the Deuce Beauties headquarters!

Today I have some Del Sol nail polishes to show you all. Here is a little background info, just in case you are new to this brand:

Note: The colors will vary depending on how many coats you apply and how much exposure your have to the sun. Consequently, my swatches may not be the same as other swatches online. Thanks!

Peek-a-Boo

This is the perfect name for this color. Looking at the bottle or on my nail, I would have never thought that this color would morph into a sheer, rose pink. It's absolutely amazing and brilliant! This was 2 coats, but I suppose 1-2 more coats would have made this more opaque. Kinda hard to tell when the base it clear (1st picture).

Foxy

A light fuchsia/hot pink that transforms to a lovely lilac/lavender. The formula on this was a bit sheer so I used two coats. Even then, you can still see my VNL, so, I recommend using another 1-2 coats for a more opaque finish.

Island Fever

A soft, frosty sweet pea that morphs into a teal,green,yellow duo chrome. This was a bit difficult to capture, but if you are into the type of duo chrome I've described, you just might love this! This was 2 coats.

Electrick

A frosty, pale light blue that transitions into a frosty lime green. Like, Peek-a-Boo, I was completely surprised how beautifully, this color transformed in the sun. Definitely my favorite in terms of color change. ;) This was 2 coats.

Rock Star

A vibrant blue infused with aqua/blue shimmers that transforms into a light teal. If you're looking for a blue color changing nail polish, but don't want to stray too far from the indoor color, this would probably be your best bet! This was 2 coats.

Glam Rock

A beautiful blue infused with micro silver veining that transitions into a stunning blue/teal. Once this color is outdoors/in the sun, the silver veining from the indoor color disappears. Of all the colors from this post, this one had the most subtle color change. This was completely opaque after 2 coats and dried incredibly fast.

Overall, if you are looking into trying any color changing nail polishes, you may want to start with Del Sol. A few of the polishes in this post were a bit sheer after 2 coats, but extra coats are well worth the effort for the color payoff.

New 2012 Nicole by OPI: 7 Kardashian Kolors Additions, 4 Nicole 2012 Shades, and 3 Nicole Walmart Exclusive Shades Review & Swatches (Picture Heavyyy)

From the title, you know that there are TONS to cover in this post! Brace yourself! ;)

If you follow my Facebook page, I announced last night that I was working on some OPI swatches and that they would be up by tomorrow. So, without further adieu, let's get started!

There are 3 new collections launching this month (& late January 2012). First up, the 7 nail polish additions to the Kardashian Kolors Collection.

"Nicole by OPI announces seven new Kardashian Kolor shades to be exclusively sold at CVS, in stores February 2012. These richly-pigmented, fashion-forward hues include crèmes in bright key lime, pinky peach, poppy red and fuchsia, as well as shimmers in light lilac and deep burgundy"

Paparazzi Don't Preach

"I'm in trouble deep" LOL! Love that song! ;)

Have you ever seen the most perfect soft, peach nude ever?! This has got to be one of my must haves from the KK Collection. This was 2 coats and has a subtle, but beautiful sheen.

Strike a Pose

A beautiful hot pink coral that was very difficult for me to capture. The photos above do not give this color justice. Formula was great and application was perfect after 2 coats; however, I could have gotten away with 1 if I were more careful. Great Spring/Summer shade and these will def/ be making it's way to my toes once it heats up in the Bay Area.

Our Fuchsia's Lookin' Bright

The name speaks for itself! I love the name! ;) This was 2 coats and again, I could have gotten away with 1 if I were more careful. When I first applied this onto my nail, I immediately thought of Barney! ;) But, they are far apart in terms of actual color.

Ladies in the Limelight

A soft chartreuse that required 3 coats for opacity. Unfortunately, this yellow-lime falls into the streaky category that most yellows fall under. Nonetheless, it's worth the trouble. It's similar to Did it On `Em, but a few shades lighter. Love!

Back to Reality... TV

A precious, periwinkle that leans towards grey. If you take a look at bottle, you'll see an aqua/pink iridescence. It's not as apparent in the photos, but boy is it a beauty in person! This was 2 coats.

One Big Happy Fame-ily

A soft lilac infused with beautiful silver micro shimmers. This was 3 coats, the first 2 coats are a bit sheer. After the second coat, I immediately though that it would look too light for my skin tone, but I actually like how it panned out in the end.

Smile for the Glam-era

A gorgeous, red plum infused with bronze/silver micro shimmers. This was 2 coats of vampy perfection. Another must have!

Again, these CVS exclusive lacquers will be available February 2012 for $7.99 each at CVS locations nationwide and online at cvs.com.

Next up, the 4 Nicole 2012 Shades!

"Nicole by OPI announces four new fashion-forward nail lacquer shades for 2012, including A Lit-Teal Bit of Love, A Million Sparkles, Shoot for the Maroon, and Vio-let’s Talk about Red. Featuring two shades of rich berry and burgundy and two hues of vibrant shimmering and glitter-packed blue, these new colors give any look instant glamour and edge."

A Lit-teal Bit of Love

An electric, aqua/blue that dries to a foil finish. Another fun, vibrant color to help transition into Spring and Summer. Formula was easy to work with and was opaque after 2 coats.

A Million Sparkles - 2 coats

1 coat over A Lit-teal Bit of Love

A multi glitter, you say?! Count me in! A clear base infused with both aqua micro glitters and small string glitter, pink holo bar glitter, and small gold hex glitters. Glitter dispersed evenly and generously throughout the nail. I recommend using a dark base or a contrasting color to better see the glitter detail.

Vio-let's Talk About Red

A vibrant, magenta violet infused with fuchsia micro shimmers. This was 2 coats.

Shoot for the Maroon

Hands down my favorite from the 4 new 2012 shades! Beauty in a bottle! A gorgeous, brown maroon duochrome. In certain lighting/angles, you can see a bit of olive, bronze/copper in random spots on the nail. This was 2 coats of perfection! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! ;)

These will be available January 2012 for $7.99 each in the U.S. at CVS, Harmon, HEB, Rite Aid, Sears, Stage Stores, Target, ULTA, and Walmart, as well as online at Amazon.com, Drugstore.com, Target.com, and Walmart.com. In Canada, lacquers will be retailed for $10.99 each at Jean Coutu, Loblaw, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Walmart Canada.

Last, but certainly not least, the 3 Walmart exclusive shades!

The Gold Shoulder

This one got me good! In the bottle, it looks silver, so I was surprised when I applied the first coat and it was a light gold! The Gold Shoulder is a pale, champagne foil infused with silver & bronze/copper micro shimmers. This was 3 coats.

Best Pink Ever

Another dreamy duochrome! A fuchsia meets bronze infused with magenta and aqua mirco shimmers. This was 2 coats and dried to a semi glass fleck finish. A true gem!

Fabulous is my Middle Name - 2 coats

Fabulous is my Middle Name over Best Pink Ever

A clear base infused with silver micro glitter and gold, silver, orange, and magenta holo-ish string glitter. Again, I recommend using a dark or contrasting base to better distinguish each color. Like A Million Sparkles, the glitters dispersed beautifully and generously over the entire nail.

These Walmart exclusive lacquers will be available January 2012 for $7.00 each ($9.68 CAN) at select US Walmart locations and walmart.com and in February 2012 in select Canadian Walmart locations.

Overall, I think that each color was a great addition to Nicole by OPI in general. I love how each collection offers either, duochrome, glitter,cremes, bright, and vampy colors. A perfect range to help transition from Winter to Spring/Summer. The formula on these were great and I didn't experience any trouble with the exception of Ladies in the Limelight which was a tad streaky.

China Glaze: Electropop Swatches & Review

Good morning, lovelies!

Today, I have some Electropop swatches to show you all.

Let's get started! ;)

Aquadelic

A bright aqua/turquoise creme. For me, this was definitely the most anticipated color from this collection and it does not dissapoint in anyway. Perfect application after 2 coats and has a beautiful gloss. Ravishing!

Dance Baby

A bright, bubble gum creme. Definitely the girly and fun color from the bunch. A must have for baby, sweet pinks. This was perfect in 2 coats and also has a brilliant sheen.

Sunshine Pop

Sunshine in a bottle! A bright, pigmented golden yellow with a slight pearlescent finish.Yellows have the tendency to be very streaky making application a pain, but this formula was flawless and was perfectly opaque after 2 coats. Love!

Overall, these nail polishes offer bright, intense pigmentation which is perfect for Spring/Summer. Application was smooth and applied like buttah! Lastly, what better way to finish off a manicure with than with a beautiful sheen before adding a top coat?! Perfection.

Electropop will be officially released February 2012, so they should be in stores now! Each will retail for $7-6

OPI: Nicki Minaj Collection Review & Swatches

It's no surprise to my friends and family that I am a die hard Nicki Minaj fan! Choose a song and I'll rap it for ya! Seriously, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga are two of the most powerful women in the industry right now and I am hooked on both of them! ;)

Anyway, today I have the entire OPI Nicki Minaj collection to show you all. This collection offers 3 fun cremes, 2 gorgeous glitters, and 1 new shade of shatter. So, let's get started!

Pink Firday

I have been searching both high and low for the perfect pink and I have officially proclaimed it to be Pink Friday! An innocent, bubble gum pink that dries to a heavenly creme finish. This was 2 coats of pure perfection. YUM!

Did It On `Em

A lime green, chartreuse creme. This is one of those colors that you either appreciate or immediately pass up on. Personally, I love these kinds of shades. :) IMO, it's a perfect addition to this collection and I can def. see Nicki incorporating this color into her outfit. Formula was a tad thick and streaky, but leveled out after the second coat.

Fly

A fabulous teal creme. The formula was a bit thick, but very manageable. This was 2 coats. Taking a look at the other colors from the collection, Fly isn't the most unique, nonetheless, another perfect addition to this collection. Nothing, but positive thoughts with this one.

Metallic for Life

It's an intense charcoal infused with both small silver hex glitters and silver micro glitters. I love it, it's definitely "edgy" and reminds me of Roman Zolanski, one of Nicki Minaj's many alter egos. The first coat is a bit sheer, but is opaque after 2-3 coats. I suppose using a black base would speed up the process.

Save Me

A clear based polish infused with teeny silver micro glitters and blue and silver holo string/bar glitters. Like most bar glitters, getting an even distribution is the story of your life! Consequently, this requires roughly about 3-4 coats + dry time for a generous disperse of glitter. I recommend applying a dark base and using this for layering; this is when the holographic effect is at its peak! Nonetheless, it has beauty written all over it! ;)

Overall, I think that OPI did an amazing job depicting the many colors of Nicki Minaj. Whether you want a girly pink, a bold chartreuse, or an edgy glitter, this collection has winner written all over it! The formulas on these were perfect with the exception of the glitter placement from Save Me, but for a beautiful polish, I'll put in the extra effort.

OPI: Holland Collection Spring/Summer 2012 Review & Swatches

Good morning, lovelies!

As promised on my Facebook page, here is the long anticipated OP Holland Collection for Spring/Summer 2012. This collection offers 12 new shades inspired by the country's range of stunning shades.

I've got tons to cover, so, let's jump right to it! ;)

Did You `ear About Van Gogh

The perfect nude/neutral/creme/beige/sand. Application was P-E-R-F-E-C-T in 2 coats, but I could have gotten away with 1 if I were more careful. I love how it's very work appropriate, yet chic and classy at the same time.

Pedal Faster Suzi!

A pinkish, lavender packed with tons of pink and silver shimmers. Like I've said in the past, I'm not too big on pink glitter, shimmer, or frost finishes. It just never grew on me, I guess. This was 3 coats. Who knows, maybe this pink will change the game! ;)

Kiss Me on My Tulips

An intensely pigmented blue toned pink that dries to an incredibly glossy creme finish. This was 1 generous coat. If you're looking for a good hot pink that requires little to effort to apply, this may be your new best friend!

Red Lights Ahead... Where?

An insanely pigmented red/orange, coral that also dries to a suuuper glossy finish. This baby applied like buttah and was perfect after 2 generous coats. Definitely a fun summer color to bright up any look!

A Roll in the Hague

Oh Em Freakin' Gee! :O That literally summed up how I feel about this baby! ;) I intensely pigmented ripe orange/tangerine that again, dries to an ultra glossy finish. This was 1 generous coat. A true eye catcher that will definitely make up do a double take! Another summer must have!

Gouda Gouda Two Shoes

A rosy, brown infused with ultra fine shimmers that appear more subtle on the nail. I'm gonna say it, it reminds me of something my grandma would wear! That's not a bad thing! It's a really classic color that you either appreciate or skip. This is a keeper in my book and immediately reminded me of Sinful Colors Vacation Time in certain lighting. This was 2 coats.

Wooden Shoe Like to Know

Chocolate milk is the first thing that popped into my head after applying the first coat! A gorgeous brown/taupe infused with ultra fine bronze/golden shimmer that beautifully distinct and apparent on the nail.This was 2 generous coats. YUM! ;)

Thanks a Windmillion

A dusty jade or sea foam green. Application was flawless and applied beautifully with just 1 coat. Definitely a must have from the creme half of this collection! LOVE!

I Don't Give a Rotterdam!

A dusty blue leaning towards grey, infused with ultra fine silver and gold shimmer. The formula was a bit on the thinner side of the spectrum and was opaque after 3 coats. Another work appropriate color and is very subtle on the nail.

I Have a Herring Problem

Gah! I got these two confused confused all the time! -_- Very similar, but definitely not the same. This is a darker, richer version of IDGAR, but with a slight green tint and gold/silver shimmers that is beautifully dispersed throughout the nail. This was 3 coats.

Dutch `Ya Just Love OPI?

A beautiful medium purple infused with small flecks of bronze shimmers. This was 2 flawless coats. If you want to switch up from the brighter colors in the collection, you can't go wrong with this one. Nothing but positive thoughts on this baby!

Vampsterdam

OPI did an amazing job selecting the names for this collection and this name does not disappoint! Definitely the most "vampy" color from Holland. The perfect eggplant hue with a slight silver shimmer. This was 2 generous coats.

Overall, I think OPI did a fantastic job with this collection. Not only are the nail polishes beautiful and apply beautifully, but they also have the perfect names to go along! I was thoroughly impressed with the formula on these, not too thick not too thin- buttah! ;) IMO, this collection screams Spring/Summer and are the perfect addition to your stash!

Shining Armor

A beautiful champagne, gold infused with gold and copper shimmers.This was 2 coats. A very work appropriate color- chic and sophisticated.

Get Linked

A golden, olive with gold and copper shimmers. This one has a slight duochrome effect which is more apparent in person. Another work appropriate/neutral color and one of my must haves from this collection. This was 2 coats.

Flirtini

A bright, neon pink with silver shimmers that dries to a matte finish. This is beautiful alone, but it's true beauty is magnified with a glossy top coat. Bubble gum! :)

Pink Pong

An intensely pigmented hot pink that only requires 1 coat for opacity. Application was a dream and another must have to your collection of pinks.

Sugar High

A magenta with silver lining infused throughout the bottle. I've said it in the past that frost/shimmer/glitter pink nail polishes are probably one of my least favorite colors. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite. :/ Nonetheless, this color is definitely appropriate for this collection. If you are a pink lover, you just might love this. This was 2 coats.

Exotic Choice

A lovely fuchsia that dries to a satin finish. I love the name and this color will definitely make any outfit ,"pop"! This was 2 generous coats.

Slinky Cardigan

LOL! Believe it or not, but I actually own a cardigan similar to this hue! :) A genius, dusty lavender that leans towards a light grey. Application was flawless with 2 coats. Another must have from this collection!

Wrapped in Clouds

A dusty, lavender leaning towards a light grey. It is very similar to Slinky Cardigan in the bottle, but on the nail, it's a totally different ball park. This was 2 coats.

Grape Escape

Isn't that the cutest lil name ever?! ;) A beautiful grey toned purple that requires 1 generous coat for full opacity. Applied the a dream!

Smokestone

The perfect name for this color, IMO. A dusty powder blue meets grey. This was 2 coats of perfection and another must have in my book!

Blue Collar

A deep cornflower blue that sets itself apart from the other blues in this collection. This was 2 coats and dried to an ultra glossy finish.

Urban Jungle

An intensely pigmented, dark slate grey that leans toward teal. This was 2 coats and applied like buttah! Another must have for me!

Overall, this collection definitely puts me in the mood for Spring! Whether you want a pop of color(pinks), a vampy color(urban Jungle), or want to keep things neutral(golds), this collection offers 12 great shades to help you transition into Spring! Application on these were a breeze and had the perfect brush for effortless application.

Jordana: Glitter Specialty Nail Polish (Picture Heavyyy)

Good after noon, lovelies!

Today I have 18 out of the 24 colors from the 2012 Glitter Specialty Collection from Jordana. The six remaining shades have yet to be released, but is coming soon.

This is going to be a LONG post so let's get started! :)

Lunar Lights

A clear base infused with iridescent fine & hex glitters. Personally, I would use this as a layering polish. I imagine layering this over a darker polish to bask in all its glory. This was 2 coats.

Rhinestones

A combination of both fine & hex silver glitters suspended in a clear base. The glitter was beautifully and generously distributed over each nail. This was 2 coats and is opaque enough to wear alone. I suppose a third coat would have covered up the bald spots.

Gemstones

A multi-colored combination of both micro and small hex glitters suspended in a clear base. A colorful mixture of silver, gold, magenta, aqua, green, and red. It's a party on your nails! Even distribution of glitter and is beautiful alone or used as layering. This was 3 coats.

Gold Glam

A clear base infused with fine gold glitter and holographic diamond glitter. I found this one a bit tricky to apply since the diamond glitters were a bit difficult to load onto the brush. I needed to dip the brush back into the formula and hope that more diamonds would appear. Nonetheless, it's nice alone or used as a layering polish. This was 2 coats.

Funky Gold Town

Gold at your fingertips! A clear based infused with gorgeous, gold hex glitters. I love how this gives the illusion of "rigid" glitter. This was 2 coats and as you can see, the glitter was applied generously over each nail. I prefer using this as a layering polish.

Copper Blaze

A lightly tinted copper base infused with both copper/orange fine & hex glitters. Although the base is slightly tinted, I doubt it will effect the base(if used) color. I recommend using this as a layering nail polish. I went through my stash and found nothing similar, a true beauty.

Bronze Feast

One of my favorites from this collection! A clear base infused with gold & copper fine and hex glitters. The perfect fall glitter in my opinion! This is beautiful alone or used as layering. This was 2 generous coats.

My Superstar

Another favorite from this collection! A unique combination of fine gold glitter & red, aqua, and gold hex glitters suspended in a clear base. Again, there is nothing is my stash that is similar to this beauty! This was 2 coats of perfectly distributed glitter. AMAZING!

Fairy Dust

A tinted dusty pink base infused with super fine pinky-silver glitter and holographic hex glitters. I recommend using this alone as this is pretty opaque after 1 coat. As I've stated in the past, I'm not a huge fan of pink glitters, but the name def. suits the nail polish!

Pixie Pink

A clear base infused with fine and hex pink glitters. Now this is a pink I can work with! If I had to use a pink glitter, it would have to be similar to this, transparent and sparse in some areas. This was 2 generous coats.

Sequins

A clear base infused with fine red glitter, magenta, gold, and aqua hex glitters. Even distribution of glitter after 2 coats. Like Lunar Lights, I highly recommend using a base color as this allows you to see it's true beauty. (Refer to bottom images)

Celebration

A packed combination of fine and small hex lavender glitter. Like Fairy Dust, I recommend using this alone as it is opaque after 1 coat. Application was perfect and applied easily. This was 2 generous coats.

Celestial

A simple, yet beautiful combination of both aqua/teal micro and hex glitters suspended in a tinted base. I love how you can wear this alone or use this as layering. This was 2 coats and is def. a staple in my stash!

Green Glitz

A combination of bright green fine and hex glitters infused in a tinted green base. Like Celestial, both bases are tinted which helps achieve its opacity. Alone or layered, either way, it's gorgeous! This was 2 coats.

Blue Bash

A tinted bluish base infused with both aqua/blue fine and hex glitters. Again, same scenario with Celestial and Green Glitz; perfect alone or layered. This was 2 coats.

Cosmic

A clear base infused with fine, aqua glitter & aqua, green, and silver hex glitters. I recommend using this layered, but I suppose you could wear it alone if you like. The glitters were dispersed evenly throughout each nail after 2 coats. Another must have for me!

LA City Nights

A combination of magenta/purple fine glitter and aqua/blue hex glitter. This one was a pain to apply and remove! I suppose using a colored base would have made this more fun to work with, but never again will I wear this alone! -_- Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but was messy to apply alone. This was 2 coats.

See how beautifully they transform under a darker base? Beautiful!

I'll say it now, Magenta magic over Jordana Black is everything I had hope Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia to be! This combination is wayyy better in my opinion!

My Superstar

Overall: I love these beauties! Some were a bit tricky to apply, but if it's gorgeous, I'll put in the extra effort! ;) I love how this collection offers 24 unique glitters that can be worn alone or layered. Great quality, great formula and application, and great range of colors! For $2.99 a piece, it's a no brainier!

I love the unique tattoos that come in the JuJu packet and the fashion/modern take from the Ikat packet. If you read my last post from way back, you know that these are super simple to use. Just choose the tattoo, cut it down to size, place onto the nail, apply pressure with a wet cotton ball, remove, and add your top coat! It's that simple. :)

Barry M: Lilac Foil

Good afternoon readers! :)

I know I've been MIA for a couple of days, but I'm back to show you Lilac Foil from Barry M.

When I first heard they were releasing Lilac Foil, I was told that it would be only exclusive to Superdrug. I'm not sure if this is still considered a "Limited Edition" nail polish, but as of today, they are still available on the Barry M website.

Lilac Foil

2 Coats - No TC

Barry M Lavender Hexograms over Lilac Foil

Lilac Foil is a gorgeous, lilac (of course) that has a silver sheen in certain angles/lighting.

It was a bit tricky to apply since the formula is slightly thick. The first coat was pretty streaky. It's a shame because it's opaque enough to wear as 1 coat, but in order to even out the streaky lines, a second coat was necessary during my experience. It isn't as apparent in photos, but more so in person. Other than that, it's a winner in my book!

Review: Tuff Scent Wish & Stardust

It's a bit hard to believe that a nail polish hoarder/junkie, such as myself, does not own a single scented nail polish! Crazy, right?!

A few days ago, I was contacted by Tuff Scent offering some samples of their nail polishes. I immediately said yes and chose Wish & Stardust to feature on my blog. I guess there's a reason I've been holding out on scented nail polish! I was waiting for you, Tuff Scent! ;)

Here is a little background info, just in case you are new to this brand!

Reno, Nevada (July 19th, 2011) – Lisa Arnbrister and 18 year old daughter, Sylvana Barbash, have relaunched ‘Tuff Scent’ scented nail polish and this time they’ve added a charitable edge. The brand which has been previously carried by reputable stores such as Sephora, Nordstrom’s, Saks fifth Avenue, Fred Segal, Planet Blue and so on, will now donate $1.00 of every bottle sold to breast cancer awareness in a commemorative effort to support the cure.

‘Tuff Scent’ was originally founded in 1996 by Lisa Arnbrister. The scented polish became an overnight global sensation retailing at 2,000 stores worldwide.

Wish is a clear based nail polish infused with opalescent hex glitters. The scent this polish gives off is Pear. It smells D-I-V-I-N-E! I was very pleased with the way the glitter evenly distributed on my nails. The formula was perfect and application was a breeze. It is slightly similar to China Glaze Snow Globe.

Stardust

3 Coats - No TC

Stardust is a combination of both fine silver and holo glitters suspended in a clear base. The scent is Ocean Breeze, which is the perfect crisp, clean scent. Application was effortless and the glitters were evenly distributed. Since the formula is a bit sheer, you may want to add a silver base to help speed the process. Nonetheless, it's worth all the effort!

Final Thoughts:

both polishes are winners in my book! I want to emphasize more on the scent. Tuff Scent claims an average of 24-72 regarding how long the fragrance will last. From my experience, yes, it did live up to it's claims. I will say that the first two days are the strongest and the third day still lingers.

While wearing these polishes, I couldn't help but smelling my fingers- people must have thought I was crazy! ;) Pear is a sweet scent and Ocean Breeze is a crisp, clean scent. I love the fact that the scent isn't too overbearing and not the least bit artificial smelling.

20 new colors/scents, which retail for $14.00, have already become a favorite of celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens. The unique line is available now at the company website www.tuffscent.com and can also be found at www.shopfinenfunky.com.

Another beauty! I'm thrilled that WnW decided to re-promote this nail polish! If you don't remember, this came out with the 2011 WnW On the Prowl Halloween Collection. It's a mixture of beautiful gold, aqua, and black hex glitters & fuchsia square glitters suspended in a clear base.

Gahhh! Like I've said before, my camera HATES purples! -_- I literally took tons of pictures, but this was the closest I could get! Just imagine that the above images were amplified by two. Its a gorgeous mixture of creamy periwinkle meets lavender.

Another pretty canary yellow! Surprisingly, this wasn't the very bit streaky, awesome! Not much to say, picture explains it all! What you see is what you get! ;)

What an odd, but beautiful combination! I was a bit iffy layering this over yellow, but I'm sure glad I did! ;) This is an awesome combination of red, black, and silver hex glitters. The black is slightly smaller than the other two glitter, but I that about it!

Spoiled: Cotton Mouth

2 coats - No TC

A fun, girly, barbie pink! I love pink, but it isn't the first color I grab for. Did that make sense? Nonetheless, it's perfect all around!

I'm very impressed that Wet n Wild has decided to expand their nail polish collection; however, the color range is very reminiscent of Sinful Colors and they are also the same price.

WnW Spoiled :0.5 fl. oz./14.8 mL

Sinful Colors: 0.5 fl. oz./15 mL

Not to mention, the bottles are very similar. The bottom of the WnW bottles is squared and SC is round all around. Spoiled also has a rim around the bottom of the cap. Sinful Colors has a SC logo on the top of the cap whereas Spoiled does not. The WnW cap slightly protrudes from the top.

I'm a HUGE fan of these type of brushes! It's perfect when you get near your cuticle! I feel that this brush is able to load more polish than our standard brushes, making 1 coaters a breeze to accomplish!

Treasure Chest: Wet n Wild

You must be wondering why the title of this post is called, treasure chest. Well, I'm not a huge fan of the word, haul, so this is my version. Whether it be haul, loot, goodies, show n tell, this is what I'll title my "haul" posts for now on! :)

Why treasure chest?! Well, I thought of pirates booty, but I'm not a pirate! No, J/K! ;) When you think of treasure, you think of finding goodies & when you go to the store you hope to find goodies. That's my concept behind the name. :)

Anyway, I stopped by Walgreens and CVS yesterday in hopes to find the WnW Mega Last display(Walgreens exclusive) and the WnW Spoiled display. (CVS exclusive) Much to my luck, both displays were complete, not a single polish missing! Awesome!

Personal Life

I put God FIRST and I am very family oriented. I have two sisters and I am the middle child. When I feel like the world is crashing down on me, they are always there to lift me back up. They keep my feet on the ground when my head is in the clouds. My parents are my main motivation in life and I always strive to do my best for them. After all, they are the reason I exist. ;) Words cannot express how thankful I am to be blessed with such a loving and supportive family. I would be nothing without them, period.

I have a dog named Rosco! I hate even calling him a dog! He is a mix between a Toy Poodle and a Border Terrier. The picture down below was on his 2nd Birthday, he's 5 now! They grow up too fast! :/

Zoya Swatches!

Good morning, readers!

Today I have some awesome Zoya nail polishes to show you all. Let's get started!

Faye

Ooo La La! Faye is a unique combination of magenta/mauve infused with golden shimmer. I used 3 coats in the above images. This was definitely the most interesting color in this post!

Crystal

Another beauty! This one has gorgeous combination of an icy/sky blue foil infused with flecks of gold foil glitter. Application was a bit tricky and needed 3 coats for opacity. Nonetheless, this one is my favorite!

Edyta

Don't you just love a good golden olive shade? What makes this even more beautiful is the smokey charcoal color that shifts in the light. This was perfect in 2 coats.

Neeka

A dusty purple infused with golden shimmer. This is definitely my second favorite from this post. This required 2 coats for opacity.

Gemma

A toned down olive with an opalescent glow that reflects beautifully in the light. This required 3 coats, but it was well worth it for this beauty! This shades tops off my top 3!

Cynthia

Last but not least, Cynthia! A gorgeous deep navy with a glossy finish. Application was effortless and required 1 coat. Beauty!

Overall, I am very impressed with all 6 colors. Each are beautiful and very unique. Application was good and the formula is perfect! I'm hooked and I can't wait to expand my Zoya collection!

What a great way to start off another year of blogging with a review of some awesome nail polishes! Today, I have four great nail polishes from NK cosmetics, let's get started!

Sparkling Silver, Sparkling Gold, Red Velvet, Amarillo

Red Velvet

2 Coats - No TC

Such a gorgeous, vampy deep burgundy. Formula was perfect and application was a breeze. If you are a fan of deep reds, you'll really enjoy this baby! ;)

Sparkling Silver

1 Coat - No TC

This is a clear based infused with tons of silver glitters. This is the only silver glitter that I own where only one coat was perfect for even distribution of glitter. Perfect!

Amarillo

1 Coat - No TC

Yes, ladies! One coat! Again, this is the only yellow in my stash that is streak free and completely opaque after one coat, not to mention, glossy! If you are looking for a bold canary yellow, this is it!

Sparkling Gold

1 Coat - No TC

WOW! Another perfect glitter! A clear base infused with tons of gold glitter.

I have nothing but positive feedback for these nail polishes. I am completely impressed with the quality, color, and selection NK Cosmetics has to offer. They're website claims to offer a streak free formula and I have witnessed that with these four colors.

Nicki Minaj by OPI: Save me, I'm Metallic for Life!

Save Me

2 Coats - No TC

Base: OCC Spanglemaker

"This time won't you save me, this time won't you save me!" One of my favorite songs from her Pink Friday Album! ;)

Save me is a clear based polish infused with teeny silver micro glitters and blue and silver holo string/bar glitters. Like most bar glitters, getting an even distribution is the story of your life! Consequently, this requires roughly about 3-4 coats + dry time for a generous disperse of glitter. I recommend applying a dark base and using this for layering; this is when the holographic effect is at its peak! Nonetheless, it has beauty written all over it! ;)

Metallic for Life

2 Coats - No TC

"I believe that life is a prize, but to live doesn't mean you're live" Another great song by Nicki; however, the radio always has the tendency to wear songs out! Boo! -_-

If I had to choose one color from this collection, this is definitely my first choice! It's an intense charcoal infused with both small silver hex glitters and silver micro glitters. I love it, it's definitely "edgy" and reminds me of Roman Zolanski, one of Nicki Minaj's many alter egos. The first coat is a bit sheer, but is opaque after 2-3 coats. I suppose using a black base would speed up the process.

To my knowledge, I believe that this collection will be officially released in early January. However, if you live near any nail supply stores, they may already have them in stock!

Review & Swatches: Finger Paints Special Effects Nail Polish

Good afternoon everyone! If you missed my FB post yesterday, I told you all that I purchased the entire collection of Finger Paints Special Effects nail polish! I'm glad I got my hands on them early because I'm sure these will sell out quickly. So many swatches, let's get started!

I'm starting out with my most favorite and finishing off with my least from this collection.

Twisted

2 Coats no Top Coat

The diamond in the rough from this collection in my opinion! If I were to choose one from this collection, this baby is definitely it! :) A gorgeous combination of green, blue, gold, purple, red, and orange.

Asylum

2 Coats no Top Coat

Another beauty! IMO, it's a toned down version of Twisted. This one focuses more on red-orange and blurple. In some lighting/angles, yellow and green are visible.

Motley

2 Coats No Top Coat

This ones a bit tricky too! In some lighting, it reminds me of Sinful Colors Green Ocean. It's a beautiful combination of green and blurple. This makes my list of top 3 from this collection. :)

Flecked

2 Coats No Top Coat

Unlike the rest of the colors from this collection, this one pretty much stays the way they look on my nails. Regardless, it's a great color. A combination of bright green and aqua/turquoise.

Flashy

2 Coats No Top Coat

Lastly, we have Flashy. It's a combination of green, orange, and yellow. It's nice, but I have sooo many other polishes that are similar. If you own Essie Shine of the Times, Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure, Andrea Fulerton Gemstone, and/or Nubar 2010, you might be able to skip this color.

Overall: This is a fabulous collection and a winner all around in my book! Application was easy and the formula was perfect. Some flakies have the tendency to run thick, but not these babies! Smooth as a baby's bottom! ;)

I purchased these at Sally's Beauty Supple for $4.49 ea. If you see the color(s) you like, I urge you to pick them up immediately as this collection will sell out FAST! :)

I'm baaack! Since the Holiday season is still in swing, I've been spending TONS of quality time with my loved ones. I hope everyone had a fun, joyous, and safe Holiday. With 2011coming to a close and 2012 well on its way, it's safe to say that I'm fortunate to have spent this year and the years to come with all my wonderful readers!

Today, I wanted to show you all two amazing magnetic polishes from Layla Cosmetics. If you've never heard of Layla, here is a little background info.

Company founded in the '30s when the Comm Emanuel Rossetti took a long stay in America after the manufacture of enamel in Italy.

Lots of work and a great desire to reach in a few years an unexpected success.

How fun and gorgeous are these?! Move over crackle, magnetics are making it's way among other nail polish trends! These were incredibly easy to work with and the magnetic effect took place instantly. When working this brand of magnetic nail polish and others, I recommend applying a thick layer, then immediately place the magnet over your nail. This is what worked best for me. Whether you place the design in the same direction, or go all out in every direction, Layla Magneffect nail polishes do not disappoint and are a staple in my nail polish stash!

Ho Ho Ho! Christmas is right around the corner and what better way to help celebrate the Holiday season than with a Mr. & Mrs. Claus Mani! I'm short on time, so let's get right to the photos! :)

If you're a beginner in nail art, I highly recommend trying this mani out! First, start with a red base similar to the color of Santa's coat. Second, take any white and draw a vertical squiggly line down the middle. Then, paint 2 black lines on the opposite sides of the white and add a gold buckle, don't forget the latch. ;) Finish off with your favorite top coat and you're good to go!

Don't you just love flakies?! When I first heard about this collection, I knew I had to pick up Shine of the Times. I missed out on the famous, Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure last year, so I knew this baby would be mine! ;) Here are a few swatches!

I literally took millions of photos of this nail polish. It's gorgeous all around and in all lighting. I'm not sure if this is an exact dupe to Andrea Fulerton's Gemstone, but it def. has a striking resemblance.

I purchased this at my local Walgrees for $8.00 ea. I picked all Shine of the Times to use for a possible Giveaway and to add to my blog sale. If you are interested in any, let me know!

Now that I've had a chance to clear thing up, today I have Dr.'s Remedy Joy & Jolly collection that consists of 6 seasonal shades to enchant, inspire, and ignite.

If I'm not mistaken, this polish was released earlier in the year with another set(can't remember the name). The name really does speak for itself. It isn't the most exciting color from the collection, but it really is a beauty. This is 1 coat.

PASSION Purple: A bombshell-boysenberry with subtle silver meshed throughout

I'm not a huge fan of berry shades, but I can certainly make an exception for this baby. It doesn't look like much on my nails, but in person, it's a stunner! This is 2 coats.

ESSENTIAL Emerald: A take on the classic tree-and-plant-inspired gem of a shade,
with delicate glimmer and unparalleled amounts of glamour

This is a unique shade of green and is probably my favorite green I own. This was perfect in 1 coat.

SERENE Silver Glitter: A seasonal sizzler like no other; shine, chic, totally unique in

the metallic scene

This is, hands down, my absolute favorite from this collection. Silver glitter is infused with silver, magenta, and aqua micro glitters. This was perfect in 2 coats.

RESOLUTION Red Glitter: A red-meets-copper spin that's sequin-look-alike laden
with high-shine and sparkle

Another beauty! Red glitter is a combination of a pinky/copper and silver micro glitters. This was 2 coats.

Review & Swatches: China Glaze Eye Candy 3D Glitters

Following the Let it Snow Collection, up next is another Limited Edition Set from China Glaze called Eye Candy 3-D Glitters. This collection offers 6 gorgeous glitter polishes that are opaque to wear alone or be used for layering. Let's get started! :)

Blonde Bombshell: A fabulous combination of golden yellow micro glitters, small golden hex glitters, and yellow stringy/bar glitters. The bar glitters are not as apparent as the other two glitters, but it definitely is a unique combination. This was perfect in 2 coats.

Marry a Millionaire: This is definitely the most interesting combination of glitters in this entire collection. It is a mixture of small purple and pink hex glitters and tealish/yellow/blue stringy bar glitters (depending on certain angles) suspended in a clear base. I fell in love with this polish in the PR photos and in the bottle, but not so much on my nails alone. I'll probably be using this for layering. Nonetheless, the color combo is awesome! :) This was 2 coats, but 3 would have probably eliminated any bald spots.

Lorelei's Tiara: Ahhh, the favorite child! ;) This is a GORGEOUS combination of fine, silver micro glitters and small teal/aqua hex glitters. I'm wearing this one right now and I've gotten plenty of compliments! ;) Perfection in 2 coats.

Material Girl: A combination of small dusty rose micro glitters, small pink hex glitters, and medium sized holo pink hex glitters, suspended in a clear base. Whew, that was a mouth full! Unfortunately, this was my least favorite from this collection. I'm not a huge fan of light pink glitters- it doesn't really flatter my nails :( This was probably the most, "blah" color from this collection. Application was effortless tho, and was opaque in 2 coats.

Love Marilyn: A combination of cherry red glitter and small round silver & red glitters. I love the combination in this one too; it screams Holiday! Not much to say about this polish, but it really is a beauty! :) This was 2 coats.

Some Like it Haute: This one is a total gem! :) It has a combination of fine silver, charcoal, and black micro glitters and small hex holo glitters suspended in a clear base. I love how the glitters pop, regardless of how smokey this polish looks. This was 2 coats and was a breeze to apply.

My Top 3 Must Haves: Blonde Bombshell, Lorelei's Tiara, and Some Like it Haute.

This collection is an all around winner in my book! They were all very easy to work with, but like most glitters, they are a pain to remove. Click here to see how I deal with removing glitter nail polish. Application on these polishes were absolutely effortless. The formula was perfect- not too thick not too thin, perfect. :) I highly reccomend using a top coat as these all leave a very gritty behind. A topcoat will also enhance the true beauty of these polishes.

As stated above, this is a Limited Edition Collection, so if you see something you like, I urge you to pick them up immediately. China Glaze is available through salons and professional beauty supply stores nationwide.

Revamped & Reloaded: D.I.Y. Nail Polish Remover Pads

Have you ever had trouble removing stubborn nail polish? *cough* glitter nail polish *cough* Are you tired of spending way too much time scrubbing? Tried the foil technique? That was too time consuming, still left nail polish on the nail, and you weren't able to move around, you say? Well, I think I may have a solution for you!

I've been getting tons of questions about how I remove my nail polish. If you've been following my posts for a long time now, you may remember that back in March, I posted a D.I.Y. post of my nail polish removal routine. Click here to view the old post.

What you'll need:

1.) Felt - I found mine at Michael's for $.29ea

(preferably white, you don't want the risk of other colors transferring onto your nails/skin)

2. Scissors

Procedure:

I've numbered each picture to demonstrate:

Note: You do not have to follow this procedure, you can cut them at any time or at any size when you need them; however, it may be beneficial to do so, I'll explain down below!

HOW YOU'VE JUST SAVED MONEY:

Pretty easy right? You're basically cutting each piece in half every time. If you cut the pieces exactly as the procedure, you should have exactly 64 pieces! Let's do some math and see how much your saving!

1 bag of Cotton Balls(100pieces)= $1.00-$2.00

1 sheet of Felt(64 pieces)= $.29

Even if you purchased two sheets of felt,(64+64=128) you would still be saving money and you would have even more pieces than cotton balls!

2 sheets of felt(128 pieces)= $.60

Yes, it can be a little time consuming, but, in the long run, you're saving money and cutting you nail polish removal time in half! If you have kids,(w/ supervision, of course,) this is a great way to help teach them about fractions!

Personally, I never liked using cotton balls. They soak up too much nail polish remover to the center of the cotton ball, whereas these pads soak up exactly where you pour your nail polish remover; essentially saving you nail polish remover as well. It's a win, win! ;)

I never use cotton balls anymore, this is a faster alternative to removing your nail polish, glitter or not! ;)

Review & Swatches: China Glaze Let it Snow Collection

Behold, the 2011 China Glaze Let it Snow collection! Feast your eyes and sit back & relax! Enough talking, let's get on to the swatches!

Snow Globe – A mixture of iridescent/opal round micro glitter and small hex glitters suspended in a clear base. This is pretty on its own, but is even more gorgeous layered. I can see this being layered over any color, really. 2 coats were used in the above image.

Tinsel Town – A mixture of silver micro glitter and small hex glitters in a tinted smokey charcoal base. I absolutely adore this polish and I'm wearing it right now! It's not the first color that comes to mind during the Holidays, unless the only thing your getting for Christmas is a lump of coal. LOL ;) This was perfect in 2 coats.

Icicle – Your basic metallic silver foil. It's streak free, dries extremely fast, and is perfect in 2 coats. Not much to say about this one, but I think it's a good staple in this collection.

Twinkle Lights – A clear base packed with loads of tiny green, red, and gold micro glitters. It's definitely the wild child of the bunch and is the most festive in my opinion! This is one of those polishes that look fabulous with or without a base color. 2 coats were used in the above image, but I suppose 1 more coat would have filled in the empty gaps. Application was effortless and glitters were dispersed evenly and generously.

Champagne Bubbles – A metallic yellow gold infused with silver micro glitters. I must say that the silver glitter is not as apparent as I hoped it would be. You can see it, but you gotta look real, real close. Nonetheless, I think that this is def. the most unique from this collection since I own nothing similar. This was 2 coats.

Ring In The Red – A combination of both red micro glitters and small round glitters infused in a sheer red base. This was a difficult one to capture. It's true beauty shines in person. This screams Holidays! Again, this is one of those colors that look great with or without a base color. This was perfect in 3 coats.

Poinsettia – A classic, gorgeous bright candy red with a creme/jelly finish. This polish dries to a super glossy/juicy finish, like a candied apple, but BETTER! ;) I'm speechless. This was 2 coats.

Winter Berry – A deepened red that dries to a perfect jelly finish. This is def. a bit darker than Poinsettia. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite from this collection- I don't hate it tho! ;) Again, not much to say, it's your basic red jelly. I'll probably use this as a base color for layering. This was 2 coats.

Velvet Bow – A vampy, deepened burgundy that dries to a jelly/creme finish. Now this shade, I like! It really does remind me of a velvet bow! ;) This was 2 coats.

Glittering Garland – An emerald jelly base infused with micro yellow-green glitters. Another favorite of mine! ;) Application was effortless and glitters were dispersed evenly and generously. This was perfect in 2 coats.

Holly-Day – A flawless, holly green that dries to a perfect creme finish. This applied like butter and was a pleasure to apply. If you're a green lover, you'll melt for this beauty! This was perfect in 2 coats.

Blue Year’s Eve – A shimmery, glass fleck royal blue infused with tiny particles of purple, turquoise, and silver shimmers. This was 2 coats.

I think China Glaze did an amazing job with the color range for this collection. All of the polishes were easy to work with and were streak free. All glitter polishes from this collection dispersed effortlessly and evenly throughout my entire nail.

My Top 5 Must Haves: Snow Globe, Tinsel Town, Ring in the Red, Glittering Garland, and Holly-Day

A few days ago, I showed you a few products I received from Bootie Babe Cosmetics. After a couple days of wear time and swatches, I've come to my final verdict. But first, pictures!

Hella Baloo

If you are a Bay Area native like myself, the word "hella" may have rung a bell. When I first heard of this brand, I noticed that "hella" was in the name of one of their polishes. I checked to see where this brand was located and sure enough, San Francisco! The word, hella, basically means a lot or very much. Ex. If you are extremely exhausted, you would say I'm hella tired.

Just a little Bay Area lingo for ya! ;) Back to business!

Let's start off with the packaging.

How cute are these?! I've never smiled or laughed so hard while applying my nail polish! It's safe to say that these are def. the most "FUN" nail polishes I own. The cap is a bit smaller than your usual caps, but there is enough room around the rim for you to easily grasp.

Application, Formulation, and Quality

These apply like a dream and they are 1 coaters! They have the perfect sized brush for effortless application. Both Hella Baloo and Purp Slurp dry to a satin finish. I wouldn't call it a matte finish since there is def. some sheen once it dries. I can get in a good 5 days before any minor chipping occurs- and that's without a topcoat! ;)
