knocked up nails review & swatches

Good morning, beauties!

I know I've been MIA, but today I have two nail polishes from knockedupnails.com. Let's get started! :)

Mint Chip At Midnight
I am in L-O-V-E with this nail polish! I went through my ever-growing stash and could not find anything similar. I'm not quite sure how to explain the finish, but it's a genius cross between a jelly and satin. This was 2 coats, but perhaps 3 would have made it more opaque.

Craving a Creamsicle
I have been searching for an opaque, peachy, orange with golden micro shimmers and I can confirm that the search has ended. I own many similar colors like this, but they were too streaky and required a gazillion coats. I had no trouble with application and was opaque after one generous coat.

Both, it was suuuper hard to choose!

-Good formula
-Easy application
-Glossy
-3 days before any minimal chipping
-Cute logo and bottle design
-Spring/Summer friendly
- Offers 20 gorgeous colors + 1 base and top coat
-Safe for expecting mothers, those with allergies, and cancer patients and children
-Does not contain toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate or camphor
- Cruelty free
- Made in the USA

- Being that Mint Chip has a jelly finish, it requires 2-3 coats for opacity like most jellies.

You can purchase these directly from knocked up nails for $10.00 each. Click here to be directed.

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Do you own any nail polishes from knocked up nails? What are your thoughts on these colors? I'd love to know down below!

Anise: Alluring Summer 2012 Collection Review & Swatches

Good morning lovelies!

Today, I have the 9 piece Alluring Summer 2012 Collection  from Anise. This Summer collection consists 9 awesome nail polishes, that offer both work appropriate and playful colors.
There's quite a bit to cover, so let's get to it!

Sun Soaker
An elegant, light gold shimmer. This was 2 easy coats.

Beach Goddess
A champagne, peach shimmer. I like the fact that it looks clean and classic. A tad streaky, but nothing over the top. This was 2 coats and has made its way to my top picks!

Bronzed Babe
A champagne foil infused with both silver an bronze micro shimmers. This immediately reminded me of my beloved Rage from Orly and looked quite similar to Milani's Brides Maid. This was 2 coats.

Let's Tiki
A chartreuse that leans a little more yellow. Application was a bit streaky on the first coat, but evened out after the third coat. See how glossy?! & that's without a top coat! Let's Tiki has also make it onto my top picks.

Chill Out
A muted, turquoise that dries to a creme finish. This was 2 easy coats.

Soft Seduction
A corn flower blue that leans a tad bit grey. This was completely opaque after 1 coat! Like Let's Tiki and Chill Out, Soft Seduction offers a high gloss finish!

Yummy Sorbet
An electric crimson infused with silver veining, that dries to a frost/shimmer finish. Again, you all know how I feel about frosty pinks. Needless to say, this was my least favorite from this collection. Nonetheless, this was 2 easy coats.

Juice Joint
A muted, hot pink jelly! I'm a huge fan of jelly finishes, so I was delighted that Ansie, had created not one, but two, jelly finishes(see next nail polish). This was my absolute favorite from the entire collection! This was 2 coats, but like most jellies, 3 coats would be required for complete opacity.

Sweet Deal
Last, but most certainly not least, a muted magenta rose that also dries to a jelly finish. This was my second favorite from this collection. This was 2 coats.

Beach Goddess, Let's Tiki, Juice Joint, and Sweet Deal

 - High quality formula
- Easy application
- Glossy
- Bright, summer colors
- Offers both work appropriate and playful colors
- Offers creme, satin, shimmer, jelly, and foil finishes
6 FREE NO TOLUENE. NO DBP. NO FORMALDEHYDE. NO FORMALDEHYDE RESIN. NO CAMPHOR.
- NO ANIMAL TESTING

- Let's Tiki was a bit streaky, requiring 3coats
- Yummy Sorbet was my least favorite since I don't prefer frosty pinks

This collection is now is stores(April)!

If you are in the San Francisco area, this collection is now available at the DSW store.

Anise nail polishes are sold in many salons especially in the Florida area, but are readily available at DSW shoe stores all around the country.

Anise nail polishes retail for $6.00 each, but if your purchase them at DSW, there is always an ongoing promotion of Buy 1 get 1 50% off. Two for the price of one, SCORE! ;)

I love what they stand by:
"We do not mass sell our collections and every color every season “sells out” completely---we do not warehouse our colors. We feel that it is important to always deliver the freshest + latest nail lacquers to our loyal shoppers..once “sold out”…gone."

"We never have and never will use such chemicals. To us, the word “toxic” means only one thing. It is bad for a woman’s health."

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Which colors have caught your attention?! What are your thoughts?! I'd love to know down below!

Just Another Mani Monday - Glitter Sandwich

A few months ago, I announced I would be adding a new series on my blog called, Just Another Mani Monday, which was inspired by none other than the Bangles.

I haven't been posting any manis lately because I've been suuuper busy swatching new collections (OPI Spider Man, OPI Minnie Mouse, OPI Ballet, China Glaze Crackle Glitters, Zoya Beach & Surf etc). In short, I've been swatching nail polishes left and right! ;)

ANYWAY, here is the first installment of my Just Another Mani Monday series.

Overall, I really like how this turned out! This is what I have currently have on my nails. It's one coat of Nicole by OPI Others Pale By Kim-parison, then 1 generous coat of Jordana Gemstones, and lastly, a second coat of OPBK. I was curious to see what this mani would look if it were matte, so I added one coat of essence matt top coat and immediately, it reminded me of a jawbreaker!

It's a less flashy, or subtle if you will, way to wear glitter. I love how the extra layer tones the entire look down, making it more soft and unique.

As always, hoped this helped & happy shopping!

Have you ever created a sandwich mani? If so, what were your favorite combinations? What are your thoughts on this mani? I'd love to know down below!

Milani: Pure Love LE Collection Nail Polishes Review & Swatches + OPI Metallic For Life Dupe!!

Good morning, lovelies!
It's such a beautiful day here in the Bay. It's been cold and rainy for a while, so I'm glad to see some sun and a soft, warm breeze.

Today, I have the new Limited Edition Pure Love Collection nail polishes from Milani. This collection consists of 3 new nail polishes and 1 eye shadow trio.

Wedding Dress
A silvery, white infused with teenie, tiny magenta and green micro shimmers. This has an interesting finish and leans foil/pearl/metallic. This is so, so much more beautiful in person. This was 2 easy coats.

Brides Maid
A champagne foil infused with silver and copper micro shimmers. I'm not sure, but this reminds me of my beloved Rage from Orly, which I cannot find for some strange reason. -_- This was 2 coats.

Bonus Shot

Gray Tux
Ooh la la! A sheer, black base with a combination of silver glitters and small & medium hex glitters. The above image was 2 coats.

If this looks familiar to you, you're probably thinking of OPI Metallic For Life from the Nicki Minaj Collection. See comparison below!

Index & Ring: Milani
Middle & Pinky: OPI

IMO, I prefer Milani for the simple fact that the glitter are much more packed and plentiful than OPI's. Both, however; require 3 coats for complete opacity.
Gray Tux & Brides Maid

-Good formula
-Smooth application
-Average dry time
-OPI Metallic For Life dupe, if not better! + cheaper
-Polish colors go hand-in-hand with the name of the collection
(It bothers me when nail polishes have no relation to the collection)

- Exclusively available at select Walgreens
- Limited Edition

Pure Love should already be in stores(April), so be on the look out if you're interested!

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Will you be purchasing any of the nail polishes and/or eye shadow trio? What are you're thoughts on this collection?! I'd love to know down below!

China Glaze: Crackle Glitters Review & Swatches

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Today, I have the 4 new additions to the China Glaze Crackle Family.
Let's get crackin', LOL ;)

Los Angeles, CA – (March 2012):  Sparkle all summer long with China Glaze®’s new Crackle Glitters collection.  Once again taking crackle technology to the next level, this third-generation polish pairs the edgy innovation of crackling nail lacquer with glamorous glitters.

Jade-d, Gleam Me Up, Luminous Lavender, Glam-More

All swatches are 2 coats of CG Liquid Leather + 1 coat of crackle.
Jade-d
A yellow, lime green crackle in a clear base. This one's a bit deceiving. In the bottle it's obviously a lime green, but on the nail it looks more yellow gold?! Oh well, regardless, this has made my top picks.

Gleam Me Up
An aqua glitter in a clear base. This was my favorite from the collection.

Luminous Lavender
A soft, lilac glitter in a clear base. I think this was too delicate of a crackle for my taste. This was my least favorite from the collection.

Glam-More
A bold, bright, fuchsia glitter in a clear base.

Jade-d & Gleam Me Up
-Smooth formula
-Average dry time
-Cracked immediately
-Super easy to work with
-Insanely gorgeous with top coat
-I know the crackle/shatter trend has been seen over and over, but I love how they've now incoporated glitter
-Anything with glitter, pretty much draws me in ;)

-Luminous Lavender was too light for my liking
-Needs top coat to smooth the glitter out and add shine
-If you're pretty much cracked out, you may not like these

The China Glaze® Crackle Glitters collection will be available as open stock colors and four-piece counter display.  Individual polishes retail for $9 MSRP and will be available at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide in May 2012.
