Review & Swatches: Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away inspired collection by China Glaze

Happy Monday!

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving and hope it was filled with fun, family, and of course, food! For those of you who do no celebrate, I hope you had a great day in general! I'm back this week to share with you all some nail polishes from the Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away inspired collection by China Glaze. Here are some photos!

Water You Waiting For is a combination of blue and green glitters in the form of hexes and fine glitters. I had no issues with application and is fully opaque in two coats. I do recommend a good, thick top coat to rid the gritty texture and add shine.

Hanging In the Balance is a bright blue creme. The formula on this is perfect and opaque in two coats. The pictures don't do any justice, it's much more vibrant in person! This was probably my favorite from the colors I received!

Creative Fantasy is a dark royal purple that dries to a beautiful rubber-like finish, however; I wasn't a huge fan of this formula. It's a bit streaky and will require a bit of patience during application. The image below was done in three coats.

Igniting Love is a vibrant, tomato red with a slight touch of pink undertones. Formula was excellent and applied nicely in one generous coat.

Get Carried Away is a black jelly base that consists of black and silver glitter, large black, pink, red,and silver hexes, and black bar glitter. You can do three coats for full opacity or use it as a layering glitter, I used one coat over Igniting Love.

Bend Over Backwards is a reddish shimmer with orange undertones. You can't tell in my photos, but this polish glows and is super vibrant. The formula was excellent only requiring two coats.

To coincide with the 3D release of “Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away,” in theatres December 21, 2012, the China Glaze® and Ardell® film-inspired collections will be available the first week of December 2012 at salons and specialty beauty retailers nationwide, including Sally Beauty Supply and ULTA stores. Individual nail polish shades will retail for $7; eyelash styles will retail for $6.

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Model City: Christmas 2012 Collection

Hey everyone!

December is well on its way and I absolutely LOVE the Holidays! So what better way to transition into the Holiday spirit than with some nail polishes from the Model City Christmas collection!

Cookies and Milk is a milky white base packed with black and gold glitter and small black hexes. I love that the name and the colors go hand-in-hand. This was two, easy coats and was one of my favorites from the collection.

Baby, It's Cold Outside is a mixture of silver and light blue glitters, small light blue holo hexes, and medium silver holo hexes. This was one coat over a light grey base and was really pleased with the outcome. :)

Meet Me Underneath the Mistletoe is a clear base packed with white, red, and green hexes. This was one coat.

You're a Mean One is a combination of silver micro hexes, small green squares, and red hearts. I'm sure this would make the Grinch himself smile! :) This was one coat.

O Christmas Tree is a combination of holo glitters, small blue, holo, and red hexes, green shreds, gold holovstars, and silver holo bar glitters. I personally think Nina did a great job executing what a Christmas tree would look like in terms of glitter nail polish! This was one coat.

Lastly, With Your Nose So Bright. It's a clear base packed with gold glitter, small red and brown hexes, and small string and bar glitter. She describes the bar glitters as a representation of Rudolph's antlers, which was a great, creative touch!

Black Cat Lacquer: Winter Colors

Ahhhhh, so nice to be back!
Thank you to those of you who have taken the time to comment and e-mail me regarding my recent hiatus from blogging-- you have no idea how much that meant to me! xx

As you can assume, I am currently behind on several posts, but I'm back today to share ten new Winter colors from Sabrina over at Black Cat Lacquer. Here are some photos!

First up, Frozen. It's a clear base packed with silver, purple, and aqua shreds. You all know I love me some shreds, so it was no surprise that this was my favorite from the collection. It really does give off a frozen/shattered effect, which is pretty awesome, I must say!

Like a Virgin is a composed of iridescent micro shimmers and small.medium hexes, small matte squares  and small and medium matte hexes. It's a very clean and feminine looking glitter and I bet it would look great over a pastel base. this was one thick coat.

Fire Woman is a combination of gold glitter, small gold red, orange, and black hexes, and black bar glitters. I actually wore this as my Thanksgiving mani and thought it was perfect for the occasion. This was one generous coat.

This Charming Man is a mixture of ultra fine gold and bronze flakies. I used one coat over a caramel base, but you can also wear this alone. It's pretty sheer, so it may require 3-4 coats for opacity.

Just Like Heaven is a clear base packed with magenta glitters, small holo and holo pink hexes, medium holo hexes, and medium holo squares. If you're a pink/girly glitter type of gal, I'm sure this'll be right up your alley! This was one coat.

Vogue is another favorite of mine from this collection. It's a fun combination of black, white, yellow, orange, green, lilac, and sky blue glitters, small black and white hexes, and small black squares. I'm a sucker for multicolored glitters and this is perfection! This was one generous coat.

Strange Love is a mixture of holo lilac and fuchsia glitters in the form of hexes and shreds. This was one coat.

I Want Candy is a jelly, lilac base packed with silver micro shimmers, aqua and silver glitters, small pink, silver, purple, and aqua hexes. Since this is a jelly polish, it'll require 3-4 coats for opacity. This was two coats over a lilac base. Another one of my faves!

Hazy Shades of Winter is a combination of cornflower glitters and hexes, blurple hexes, and silver holo shreds. I don't think I have any cornflower glitters, so I'm glad to add this baby to my collection. This was one generous coat.

Holiday on the Moon is a clear base packed with sky blue and sapphire glitters in the form of hexes and squares. Like its name, it also consists of holo moons and stars making this a "stellar" combination! ;) This was one coat.

Feature: Wrap Me In Glitter Bracelets

Hello loves!

Yup, you guessed it, another scheduled post!

Today's post features two bracelets from Wrap Me In Glitter. Here are some photos!

First up, the Gold Spike ID bracelet. I am blown away with this piece! You all know I'm very much into spikes at the moment and this bracelet takes that to a whole new level! The three spikes are screwed onto a a brass plate and is held together with a gold plated chain. If you're more of a silver gal, you're in luck because she also carries that color as well! This is definitely one of my favorite pieces and I've gotten quite a few compliments! ;)

Next, the Gold Cross bracelet. Another great piece! I don't own any white bracelets, so I'm glad to add this to my ever growing collection! I also don't own any bracelets that are held together by a chord. The chord is easily adjustable making it easy to fit your desired liking. The rhinestones add a bit of glam and the four gold beads add the finishing touch! In addition to this white bracelets, she also carries various colors of the chord and crosses.

Feature: Jewel Be Mine Bracelets

Hi everyone!

Here's another scheduled post!
Today I have four bracelets from Jewel Be Mine. I'll let the photos do all the talking! ;)

First up, the Native Plaque bracelet. The orange from this bracelet is a great way to add a pop of color to your outfit. If you're a SF Giants fan, this may be right up your alley! ;) It consists of a silver bar and silver, orange, and black beads. You can easily adjust the fitting to your liking by pulling/pulling the ends of the string.

Next, the Ivory Spike Bracelet. This was my favorite from the four! It consists of ivory beads and gold spikes that are held together with a gold chain. The beads offer a classic touch while the spikes offer a bit more edge.

The Gold Twisted Spike Cuff is another one of my faves. I've been reaching for this a lot lately and is perfect worn alone or stacked with other bracelets. It's also pretty lightweight despite its appearance.

Lastly, the Rock and Silver bracelet. I'm not much of a silver gal, but this has definitely changed my mind! It consists of plain and rhinestone pyramids held together with an elastic which makes for easy application. Like the twisted cuff above, this is also very light weight.

I'm very happy with these bracelets! Jewel Be Mine offers top of the link accessories at reasonable prices. They are of great quality and I cannot wait to pair them with other bracelets.
