Anise Sparkle Collection Review & Swatches

Hey everyone!

Long time no post! I hope you guys are doing well. :) Today's post features six nail polishes from the Sparkle Collection by Anise. Here are some swatches!

First up, Seductive. It's a multi chrome polish that shifts from gold, olive, green, and purple. The closest colors I can think of is Hard Candy's Beetle and Orly Space Cadet. I wish the olive/green were more apparent on the actual nail as it is in the bottle.  This was two easy coats and had an excellent formula.

Get Rich is crimson red with silver veining. Very basic and was my least favorite from the collection. This did, however; applied effortlessly in one coat.

Social Star is a clear base packed with gold glitter and micro gold holographic hexes. It isn't densely packed which is perfect for using it as topper over any color. This one coat over Seductive.

Party Scene is a clear base packed with lavender glitter and pink holo micro hexes. The first coat goes on sheer, but is dense enough to be opaque in two coats.

After Hours is a sheer, grey base packed with silver glitter and metallic blue micro glitters. I absolutely adore this combination and was my favorite from the bunch! This was two, generous coats.

Lastly, Flashbulb. It's a sheer, black base loaded with silver glitter and holo micro hexes. It isn't the most unique, but I love a dark base with holographic glitters! Another favorite of mine! This was two, thick coats.

Each bottle is 15 ml - 0.5 fl. oz

Anise nail polishes are sold in many salons especially in the Florida area, but are readily available at DSW shoe stores all around the country.

Anise nail polishes retail for $6.00 each, but if your purchase them at DSW, there is always an ongoing promotion of Buy 1 get 1 50% off.

I love what they stand by:
"We do not mass sell our collections and every color every season “sells out” completely---we do not warehouse our colors. We feel that it is important to always deliver the freshest + latest nail lacquers to our loyal shoppers..once “sold out”…gone."

"We never have and never will use such chemicals. To us, the word “toxic” means only one thing. It is bad for a woman’s health."

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Anise Fall 2012 Urban Angel Collection Review & Swatches

Hi everyone!
I've been suuuper behind on posts lately, but I managed to complete today's post!

I recently received the 12 piece Fall 2012 Urban Angel Collection from Anise. As with most collections, there's quite a bit to cover, so let's jump into it!

First up, Wild Cat. It's a metallic copper that's opaque after 2 coats. This is definitely a work appropriate color and IMO, would look great on any skin tone.

Snakeskin Deep is a grey/taupe with a metallic/shimmer finish. This is definitely one of my favorites from this collection and I can't wait to rock it this Fall! This was 2 easy coats.

Smouldering Eyes is an interesting shade. In the bottle, it looks like a combination of grey meets a dusty lavender, but on the nail, it's more of a grey/blue. A tricky one, I tell ya! Nonetheless, I couldn't find anything similar in my stash. This had a very thin consistency but was still opaque after 2 coats.

Smokeshow is a muted grey mixed with hints of iridescent green/teal shimmers. Anise has done such a great job creating colors, that it's actually giving me a hard time trying to describe each color! ;) This was 2 coats.

Lux Leather is a grey meets blue/teal with a metallic finish. This was 2 coats and had effortless application.

Money to Burn is a jewel toned mermaid, turquoise green with gold veining. It shows up quite darker on the nail than in the bottle, which I liked. In certain angles, the gold becomes more apparent. This was 2 easy coats, but I'm sure one would have done the job if I were more careful. Another one of my favorites from this collection.

Total Temptress is a smokey mauve infused with magenta, purple, and gold shimmers. Another beauty from this collection only requiring 2 coats for opacity. Total Temptress is a must have for me!

I spy is a smokey purple grey that dries to a creme finish. The formula on this was on the thicker side of the spectrum, but managed to become opaque and smooth after 2 coats.

Touch of Seduction - the one name I can truly describe this color would have to be purple yam, or ube, if you're Filipino! Touch of Seduction has golden shimmers that reflects beautifully in the sun. This was two coats and is another must have for me!

Some Kind of Kiss is a gorgeous, vampy purple. If you've been a long time reader of this blog, you know that I absolutely adore deep purples and this is no exception! It's beautiful, glossy, and perfect after 2 coats! Yes, it's another must have and I also cannot wait to wear this color!

Wee Hours is a royal blurple packed with blue and violet shimmers. This is one of those colors you need to see in person; it's stunning! This was 2 coats and rounded off my top picks from this collection.

Lastly, Is This Love? Unfortunately not. You all know I'm not a huge fan of deep wine/berry shades and this was no exception. I will give it this, it applied very smoothly and was opaque after 2 coats.

Anise: Alluring Summer 2012 Collection Review & Swatches

Good morning lovelies!

Today, I have the 9 piece Alluring Summer 2012 Collection  from Anise. This Summer collection consists 9 awesome nail polishes, that offer both work appropriate and playful colors.
There's quite a bit to cover, so let's get to it!

Sun Soaker
An elegant, light gold shimmer. This was 2 easy coats.

Beach Goddess
A champagne, peach shimmer. I like the fact that it looks clean and classic. A tad streaky, but nothing over the top. This was 2 coats and has made its way to my top picks!

Bronzed Babe
A champagne foil infused with both silver an bronze micro shimmers. This immediately reminded me of my beloved Rage from Orly and looked quite similar to Milani's Brides Maid. This was 2 coats.

Let's Tiki
A chartreuse that leans a little more yellow. Application was a bit streaky on the first coat, but evened out after the third coat. See how glossy?! & that's without a top coat! Let's Tiki has also make it onto my top picks.

Chill Out
A muted, turquoise that dries to a creme finish. This was 2 easy coats.

Soft Seduction
A corn flower blue that leans a tad bit grey. This was completely opaque after 1 coat! Like Let's Tiki and Chill Out, Soft Seduction offers a high gloss finish!

Yummy Sorbet
An electric crimson infused with silver veining, that dries to a frost/shimmer finish. Again, you all know how I feel about frosty pinks. Needless to say, this was my least favorite from this collection. Nonetheless, this was 2 easy coats.

Juice Joint
A muted, hot pink jelly! I'm a huge fan of jelly finishes, so I was delighted that Ansie, had created not one, but two, jelly finishes(see next nail polish). This was my absolute favorite from the entire collection! This was 2 coats, but like most jellies, 3 coats would be required for complete opacity.

Sweet Deal
Last, but most certainly not least, a muted magenta rose that also dries to a jelly finish. This was my second favorite from this collection. This was 2 coats.

Beach Goddess, Let's Tiki, Juice Joint, and Sweet Deal
