Review & Swatches: New Summer 2012 Limited Edition Shades of Fame Products from Smash Box

Hi everyone!

A quick, but heartfelt thank you to those of you who are still wishing me a belated happy birthday! You guys are the greatest! xx

From the title, you know that I'll be featuring some new Limited Edition Summer makeup products from Smash Box! Here's what I received.

This palette includes a free sample size lid primer, awesome! :)

- 9 eye shadow colors
- 2 cream liners
- Sample size lid primer
- Liner brush/shader brush
- Beautiful, warm tones
- Fairly Pigmented
-Easily to blend
- No creasing
- Magnetic closure
- Mirror
- Slim and can fit easily into your purse

An overall great, neutral palette that is perfect for all year round!

Personally, I found that the matte/satin finishes definitely required a primer for better results.

Since, they are finely milled, I experienced a bit of fall out.
Tip: Apply eyes shadow prior to your face routine (foundation/powder/blush etc)

-Non cakey & crease resistant (w/primer)
- Great pigmentation
-Buildable color
- Glides on smooth and effortless
-Can be used as both a base or as an eye shadow alone

- My mom uses it so much, I barely get to use it! ;)

L-R
Candy: a sheer, bubblegum pink infused with gold and magenta micro shimmers
Buff: a sheer nude infused with light green, magenta, and goldmicro shimmers
Hibiscus: a fuchsia infused with magenta micro shimmers
Papaya: a sheer peach infused with coral and gold mircro shimmers
Star: sheer pearlescent beauty infused with green, yellow-gold, and coral shimmers

- Slight vanilla scent/taste
- 3.5-4 hour wear time
- Glossyyy!
- Sheer, but adds a slight tint on your lips
- Amplified color with lipstick as a base

If you're not too big on sheer lip glosses, you may want to skip these.
- Slightly sticky

Eye shadow Palette: Sandstone, Sherbert, Nude Praline, Gold
Cream Shadow: Quartz
Lip Glosses: Hibiscus and Papaya

The Eye shadow palette and lip glosses are both Limited Edition, while the the cream shadows are new colors.

You can purchase these items as well as other great products from smashbox.com, sephora.com, and ulta.com

Shades of Fame Eye Palette: $48.00

Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadow: $19.00

I agree, they're not overly pigmented but will def. give your lids some nice color!

  3. I bought this palette maybe a month ago and I've used it every day since, I adore Sherbert and Honey especially! And having never tried the Smashbox shadow primer before the sample was great, I think it has performed a lot better than Urban Decay's. Not to mention it holds strong all day but removes so easily!

  4. no i haven't. but in eyeshadows i look for something with shimmer or glitter in it. I do like plain colors but i love the pop that glitter gives eyeshadows.

  12. The eye shadow shades look so great, I really like for the stronger colors like pacific looks like, but for a more neutral day makeup there are also beautiful colors to choose from.
