OPI: Nicki Minaj Collection Review & Swatches

It's no surprise to my friends and family that I am a die hard Nicki Minaj fan! Choose a song and I'll  rap it for ya! Seriously, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga are two of the most powerful women in the industry right now and I am hooked on both of them! ;)

Anyway, today I have the entire OPI Nicki Minaj collection to show you all. This collection offers 3   fun cremes, 2 gorgeous glitters, and 1 new shade of shatter. So, let's get started!

Pink Firday
I have been searching both high and low for the perfect pink and I have officially proclaimed it to be Pink Friday! An innocent, bubble gum pink that dries to a heavenly creme finish. This was 2 coats of pure perfection. YUM!

Did It On `Em
A lime green, chartreuse creme. This is one of those colors that you either appreciate or immediately pass up on. Personally, I love these kinds of shades. :) IMO, it's a perfect addition to this collection and I can def. see Nicki incorporating this color into her outfit. Formula was a tad thick and streaky, but leveled out after the second coat.

A fabulous teal creme. The formula was a bit thick, but very manageable. This was 2 coats. Taking a look at the other colors from the collection, Fly isn't the most unique, nonetheless,  another perfect addition to this collection. Nothing, but positive thoughts with this one.

Metallic for Life
It's an intense charcoal infused with both small silver hex glitters and silver micro glitters. I love it, it's definitely "edgy" and reminds me of Roman Zolanski, one of Nicki Minaj's many alter egos. The first coat is a bit sheer, but is opaque after 2-3 coats. I suppose using a black base would speed up the process.

Save Me
A clear based polish infused with teeny silver micro glitters and blue and silver holo string/bar glitters. Like most bar glitters, getting an even distribution is the story of your life! Consequently, this requires roughly about 3-4 coats + dry time for a generous disperse of glitter. I recommend applying a dark base and using this for layering; this is when the holographic effect is at its peak! Nonetheless, it has beauty written all over it! ;)

Pink Friday, Did It On `Em, and Metallic for Life

Overall, I think that OPI did an amazing job depicting the many colors of Nicki Minaj. Whether you want a girly pink, a bold chartreuse, or an edgy glitter, this collection has winner written all over it! The formulas on these were perfect with the exception of the glitter placement from Save Me, but for a beautiful polish, I'll put in the extra effort.

OPI Nicki Minaj is available now at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($9.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

As always, hope this helps and happy shopping!

  5. Oh, wow. I just read the above. Sorry! No harm meant.

  6. Pink looks amazing on you but metallic 4 life is still my favorite

  7. They're all so amazing! Loveee <3

  8. I definitely want to get Fly and Did it on em. So nice!

  9. Great swatches! Loving "Metallic 4 Life".

  10. Super Bass is gorgeous over all 3. Thanks for sharing~!

  11. Oh my gawd your nails are gorgeous.

  12. I could not see me doing the chartreuse. But I bought Fly, Pink Friday, Metallic 4 Life and the fab, Save Me (looks great over a shimmer white). Ended up did not like Metallic 4 Life...I expected more - it is in a runny sheer black base that is black enough you can ONLY use it over a deep shade. The silver is not silver but more like one of my silver chains that sat out and oxidized too long to look good and I cannot clean it well enough myself - it needs to go to the jeweler. I doubt that shade will stay in my stash long.

  13. All the colours look gorgeous but the ones I got were Metallic 4 Life, Save Me and Super Bass Shatter. The shatter isn't just a standard shatter... like it has a teeeensy bit of sparkle which comes alive with a topcoat. I just love it.

  14. beautiful colors!
I'll choose this in the giveaway!

  15. Omg Fly is absolutely stunning, I love anything teal!! x

  16. I do like this collection, I'll have to find a mini set. Only, the only sets I've seen in person had Save Me (which i have full size) instead of Metallic 4 Life. Looks like I'll have to take to the internets.

  17. Strike a pose looks like a lovely color

  18. OMG!! I love save me so much!

  19. Darn, now I have to go buy the whole collection! They are gorgeous!

  20. I love this collection! My favorite is definitely Fly! *___*
