DIY: Nude Nail Polish

I don't know about you, but it's really hard/almost impossible for me to find a nice, streak free, opaque nude nail polish. But I'm lucky enough to at least own two nudes that I am completely in love with, American Apparel's California Trooper & Trench Coat! Everything else I've tried was way too sheer and needed about 4-5 coats to reach the opacity I wanted. If your an on-the-go type of girl, you know what i mean & how inconvenient it can be!

With all that being said, I have numerous loose powder foundations that i barely ever use/probably will never use, but i still keep them around. I just can't throw things like that away, it's like literally throwing your money in the trash! Now that I look back at it, I'm really glad i kept them! Here's Why:



What You'll Need:

1.) 1 bottle of clear nail polish, preferably 3/4 full and I'll explain why later
2.) Any loose powder(eye shadow, pigments, foundation etc)
* Please don't feel limited to using only loose powder! I've tried using old eye shadow and it works just as great, but it is a bit more time consuming; considering you have to smash the eye shadow until it reaches a powdery/finely milled texture
3.) 2 small sheets of paper
4.)Patience & Cleaning Supplies - this can get a "bit" messy! ;)

DIY:

First, take your bottle of clear nail polish and remove the brush/cap and set aside

Next, take your loose powder and pour some onto a small sheet of paper













Then, take your second sheet of paper and fold it into a cone shape, leaving the an opening small enough to insert into the top of the nail polish; this will act as a funnel. This is why it's better to have 3/4 left because you'll be adding powder and shaking to mix; otherwise, it can over flow! oh no!
*You can use tape to help secure the funnel in place.

After, tightly close the bottle and shake until the powder has been evenly distributed in the clear nail polish.                                      



Lastly, apply to your nail & voila!



*feel free to add more powder to your liking of opacity and color.
*You want to make sure you keep a "nail polish consistency", not too runny, but not overly thick!
