Review & Swatches: China Glaze Hologlam Collection

Good evening, beauties!

Tonight's post features a few colors from the new China Glaze Hologlam collection. Here are my swatches!

Cosmic Dust is a a silver/grey with a strong linear holo finish. Unlike most silver holos, this one has a bit more of a dusty base. This was two coats.

OMG A UFO is a warm olive green with a medium linear holo finish. Not too sure how to feel about this one, but it's a great shade that stands alone among the other colors. This was two coats.

Sci-Fly By is a medium/strong linear sky blue that applies effortlessly in two coats. Love this one! Very clean and crisp on the nails!

Strap on Your Moonboots is deep, navy medium/strong linear holo. This was my absolute favorite from this post and applied evenly in two coats.

Astro-Hot is a soft pink with a medium holo finish. This was probably my least favorite only because I'm not too fond of pink holo polishes. This did, however; apply evenly in two coats.

When Stars Collide is a dusty, eggplant with a strong linear holo finish. ERMAGERSHHHH! Look at that holo goodness! My second favorite from this post and the unique purple holo in my stash! This was two coats.

Overall, I'm really pleased with what China Glaze had to offer with their new holo polishes. The formula on these were pretty smooth for the most part and only required two coats for opacity. If you're a fan of linear holos, you cannot go wrong with these. This collection is very versatile and offers both work appropriate and playful shades. Like most holo polishes, for best results, these require lots and lots of SUN!

These are now available and retail for $14.00 ea.

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Are you a fan of holo polishes? Thoughts?! I'd love to know down below!

Aqua Daisy Review & Swatches

Second post of the day!

This time, I have two polishes from Emmy over at Aqua Daisy.

Here are some swatches! :)

Ke$ha's Floor Sweepings, what a perfect name for this nail polish, Ke$ha would be so proud! ;) It's a clear base packed with silver, holo, black, pink, red, green, and gold glitters, purple squares, and aqua hexes. Pretty in the bottle, even better swatched! :) This was one coat over Lime Crime Once in a Blue Mousse.

Martian Madness is a yellow green scattered holo. This was perfect and opaque after two coats. Again, my photos never do holos any justice! This is much more flashy in person! :)

Ke$ha's Floor Sweepings 15 ml - $9.00
Marian Madness 15 ml - $9.00
3 Free
Hand made
Stainless steel mixing balls
World wide shipping

You can purchase these polishes along with others directly from her Etsy store.

Review: Tuff Scent Wish & Stardust

It's a bit hard to believe that a nail polish hoarder/junkie, such as myself, does not own a single scented nail polish! Crazy, right?!

A few days ago, I was contacted by Tuff Scent offering some samples of their nail polishes. I immediately said yes and chose Wish & Stardust to feature on my blog. I guess there's a reason I've been holding out on scented nail polish! I was waiting for you, Tuff Scent! ;)

Here is a little background info, just in case you are new to this brand!
Reno, Nevada (July 19th, 2011) – Lisa Arnbrister and 18 year old daughter, Sylvana Barbash, have relaunched ‘Tuff Scent’ scented nail polish and this time they’ve added a charitable edge. The brand which has been previously carried by reputable stores such as Sephora, Nordstrom’s, Saks fifth Avenue, Fred Segal, Planet Blue and so on, will now donate $1.00 of every bottle sold to breast cancer awareness in a commemorative effort to support the cure.
‘Tuff Scent’ was originally founded in 1996 by Lisa Arnbrister. The scented polish became an overnight global sensation retailing at 2,000 stores worldwide.

Wish & Stardust

Wish
2 Coats - No TC over CG Liquid Leather

Wish
2 Coats - No TC over CG White on White
Wish is a clear based nail polish infused with opalescent hex glitters. The scent this polish gives off is Pear. It smells D-I-V-I-N-E!  I was very pleased with the way the glitter evenly distributed on my nails. The formula was perfect and application was a breeze. It is slightly similar to China Glaze Snow Globe.

Stardust
3 Coats - No TC
Stardust is a combination of both fine silver and holo glitters suspended in a clear base. The scent is Ocean Breeze, which is the perfect crisp, clean scent. Application was effortless and the glitters were evenly distributed. Since the formula is a bit sheer, you may want to add a silver base to help speed the process. Nonetheless, it's worth all the effort!

Final Thoughts:
both polishes are winners in my book! I want to emphasize more on the scent. Tuff Scent claims an average of 24-72 regarding how long the fragrance will last. From my experience, yes, it did live up to it's claims. I will say that the first two days are the strongest and the third day still lingers.

While wearing these polishes, I couldn't help but smelling my fingers- people must have thought I was crazy! ;) Pear is a sweet scent and Ocean Breeze is a crisp, clean scent. I love the fact that the scent isn't too overbearing and not the least bit artificial smelling.

20 new colors/scents, which retail for $14.00, have already become a favorite of celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens. The unique line is available now at the company website www.tuffscent.com and can also be found at www.shopfinenfunky.com.

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Essence: Hello Holo

Hi everyone!

First, please excuse this quick post as I have tons of errands to run today.

Before I head out, I wanted to show you my NOTD, which is Hello Holo from Essence. Here are a few photos.

Base: Wet n Wild Metallica
+
3 Coats Hello Holo
(I used a base since I had a feeling HH would require more than 4-5 coats for opacity alone.)

If you look closely, IMO, HH gives the illusion of a linear holo finish.

Gahhh, these photos do not do this polish ANY justice! -_- Trust me, it's even more gorgeous in person.

Even after a silver base and 3 coats, it still wasn't opaque as I would have wanted it to be. Perhaps 2-3 additional coats would have done the trick, but since you all know I highly dislike polishes that take more than 3 cats and I was running out the door, this final look was something I had to settle for. Nonetheless, it's a real gem and it'll make you do a double take! ;)

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Do you own Essence Hello Holo?! Have anything similar? I have a bottle of WnW Kaleidoscope and will have a comparison in the near future. What are your thoughts?! I'd love to know down below!

NOTD: Magnetic Shimmering Silver

I'm on a swatch roll! Slowly, but surely, I'm making my way through all my swap swatches. ;)

Today, I want to show you Shimmering Silver from Magnetic. Here are a few pics.

2 coats

See all that holo goodness?! It looks linear in the bottle, but has more of a scattered holo effect on the nails. Either way, it's a beauty ;)

As always, you can enlarge each photo for better holographic viewing!

Application was effortless and thankfully, no bald spots! ;) Formula is slightly runny, but nothing too overwhelming.

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

NOTD: GOSH HOLOGRAPHIC

First, a huge thank you to the lovely Kelly for supplying this highly sought after, breathtaking beauty. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would have this polish under my possession. With the crazy, ridiculous prices on eBay, you are a gem, Kelly!

Feast your eyes on the gorgeous GOSH Holographic! :) I feel as if I'm repeating myself when describing holos as gorgeous, beautiful, amazing, fantastic etc. This Holo, sums up all of them ;) Here are a few pics!

Gosh Holo
3 Coats

This is the perfect intense silver linear holographic I own at the moment, hands down!

Indoors/no sun

Looking good has its sacrifices. -Fabolous

As much of a stunner this polish is, it's a pain in the ass to apply!

The downside of this polish is application and formula. It's very tricky to work with and creates TONS of bald spots if you go over the same area twice. As if application wasn't bad enough, the formula is crazy thiiiiiick! I'm a bit scared to add polish thinner since I'm not sure if it will diminish the holo effect.

I needed 3 coats for full opacity and to cover up any bald spots. My mom and I seem to be grabbing for this polish lately and w/ 3 coats each, I'll be out of it in no time :( I actually might need to hide it from her! ;) I think the also famous, NFU OH 61 may be similar, if not stronger?!

Longevity is great. I get a full 5 days before any "major" chipping. Keep in mind, I do dishes and clean around the house, so, 5 days w/out a topcoat is amazing. :)

As always, hope this helps & happy shopping!

Do you own GOSH Holographic of NFU OH 61? In your opinion, are they about the same in terms of holo intensity? What are your thoughts?! I'd love to know down below.
