Review & Swatches: New Hard Candy Polishes

Good evening, everyone! 

Tonight, I have some gorgeous polishes from Hard Candy. I'm sure you've already heard so much about these new polishes and if you haven't, are you living under a rock?! LOL! :) Here are my swatches.

Sweet Tooth is a milky, light blue base that consists of pink, silver and sky blue glitters. 

Crush on Gold is a gold foil base with flecks of copper. 

Peach Pop is a peachy base that consists of silver, gold, and orange glitters.

Cocoa Smore is a griege base with black and silver glitters. One of my faves from this post!

Tinsel Town is a clear base loaded with holo gold, purple, and green string glitters.

Gummy Green is a soft, minty base that consists of black and silver glitters. This was my personal favorite from this collection!

Masquerade is a clear base loaded with super fine black glitters and small pink hexes. 

Fireworks is a tinted red base loaded with red glitters and small blue hexes.

Sparkle City is a clear base that consists of silver and black glitters.

Overall, I'm very pleased with these new polishes. I think Hard Candy did a great job by offering a good variety of colors with different finishes and textures. Application on these were smooth and applied evenly with the exception of Firework and Sparkle City which required a bit of patience during application. 

These are now available.

Review: Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow Duo & Stroke of Gorgeous Felt Tip Eyeliner

If you've been reading my blog since day one, you know that I don't wear much eye makeup. I'm more of an eyeliner, mascara, face powder, and lippie kinda gal. Aside from nail polish, I have an ever growing lipstick/lip gloss collection.

However, when I'm feeling a bit more free spirited (makeup wise) or for a special occasion,  I love to play around with eye shadows.  

Anyway, back to the reason for this post. I recently received some goodies from Hard Candy to review. Let's get started, shall we?!

Baked Eye Shadow: Rock n Roll $6.00

Stroke of Gorgeous Felt Tip Eyeliner: Nautical $5.00

As you can see, it has a great pointed tip that makes for accurate application.

Like most eye shadows, a primer is a must in order to achieve a vibrant outcome

I love this for many reasons! It has great color payoff, long lasting, smudge proof, and again, a nice tip for precision. This is a great way to add a "pop" of color to your everyday look.

Among my other felt tip/liquid liners, I recommend storing this vertically and upside down as this allows the product to flow straight into the felt tip. 

Baked Eye Shadow: Rock n Roll

If you're in need of a quick, smokey eye, I highly recommend this duo eye shadow. It's great for those on-the-go, can easily fit into your purse, and is wallet friendly. Like the eyeliner, it has fabulous color payoff. Being that it is a baked eye shadow, I was pleasantly surprised by its no fall out ability.

Review: Fox in a Box Part 2

Here are the last two Fox in a Box blushes& bronzers from Hard Candy. Click here, in case you missed out my review on Truth or Dare, Spicy and Sweet, Smooth Talker. Click here, if you missed the displays of some of their newer products.

I initially picked up 3 boxes, just to test them out and see if they would work for me. Like most Hard Candy products, they did! The next day, I went back to pick up the last 2 colors, but they were all sold out! Yeah, they sold out that fast! Boo you Walmart! -_- Anyway, Hard Candy was kind enough to send to me the last two colors to complete my Fox in a Box Reviews! Here are some pics!

Hot Flash

This one is very similar to Spicy and Sweet, just a bit more intense from the hot pink in the upper left corner. It's a gorgeous hot pink blush, but can also be toned down to a soft, barbie pink. I recommend using this with a very light hand and to gradually build the intensity. Wait a few minutes to let it set, then continue to build.  It has excellent pigmentation and gives off a nice, natural glow, once applied onto your skin. 

Skinny Dipping

With Truth or Dare being my favorite, this one definitely comes in second place! The blush is a gorgeous peachy, coral color and the bronzer is very light and natural. I was a little afraid to use this color because peachy, coral blushes tend to make me look "orange". -_- I'm glad to say, that, this is not an issue with this blush. Like Hot Flash and Spicy and Sweet, I also recommend using a very light hand and gradually build the intensity. With Truth or Dare and Smooth Talker, you're good to go with just your regular application.

In addition to my Dr.'s Remedy nail polish review, I decided to add some random, fun stripes. This was just a quick mani design that I came up with; nothing fancy, but I still really liked the outcome. ;)

Review: Hard Candy Show Girls Secret Glitter Glue

I'm on a role today! & I am also a huge glitter eyeliner lover! I love how you can "spice" up a natural everyday look, by just adding glitter to your upper/lower lash line or even onto your lids. It's a definite "eye" catcher and brings light &  attention to your eyes.

When putting glitter onto your face, I really recommend using a base or glue to help adhere the glitter to your face/body. This, also helps with the longevity of the glitter. A few weeks ago, I received Hard Candy's Glitter Glue and a Loose Glitter for review. Here are a few pics!

I know that I tend to "rat" on brushes that are included in products, but I love this brush for lining my eyes with the glitter. It's small enough to precisely line your lower lash line. It makes lining your eyes a breeze!

Glitter Packaging

Application: This is what worked best for me. First, I applied the glitter glue along my lower lashline. Then I waited about 15 seconds before I added any glitter. Once that has had time to set, 2-3 minutes, I applied one last coat to seal the deal! ;)

Overall: This product does exactly what it claims to do. This adhesive is more on the watery side of the spectrum. I expected it to be of a thicker consistency, like most glitter adhesives I've tried, but nonetheless, it gets the job done. I wore this for 8 straight hours and it did not budge! Glitter has the reputation to burn once it gets into your eyes, but I experienced no irritation around my eye area during or after use! A little goes a long way, therefore, i really cannot imagine anyone finishing an entire bottle, even after weeks of use. Hard Candy continues to impress me every time! =)

Review: Hard Candy Fox in a Box

If you've read my quick post yesterday, you know that I've been MIA and that I had a mini haul to show you! So, let's get started! Ever since I spoke to a Representative at Hard Candy a couple weeks ago, I have been WAITING for these items to be released! Every time I go to my local Walmart, the HC section is where I "go-to" first! It seems as if every time I'm there, they are always sold out of the newer products! Not this time! When I went about 2 weeks ago, they had about 5-6 boxes of each color! Unfortunately, I went back today to pick up the other two colors(skinny dipping & hot flash), they were all out! -_- Boo! Anyway, here are a few photos!

Fox in a Box: $6.00 ea

Don't they remind you of Benefit Blushes? But, just more affordable and easily accessible?!

All of these blushes have a magnet inside, which closes the cover to the box.

Truth or Dare

My favorite out of the three and also the most wearable for me.

The bronzer is a bit on the lighter side,(which i love btw) which means you can build the intensity to your liking, without making you look "orange"! It's so hard for me to find a bronzer that won't make me look orange! The bronzer is a soft, satin finish  The blush is also very buildable . It's a soft baby pink blush with a satin finish.

Spicy and Sweet

With this blush, i recommend using a light hand, since the hot pink is more of a bolder/brighter color. It can also be a little more"over powering" than the other 3 shades in this box. I like to use this when i want to add a "pop" of color to my face. This has a matte/satin finish.

Smooth Talker

This is the most natural out of the bunch. It really gives me a nice, healthy glow, without looking overly shiny/oily. It also, works great as a highlight. This is also, a satin finish.

Brush of choice:

For these particular blushes, i like to use my elf blush brush since it is small/narrow enough to pick up one color at a time.

Overall: I am in complete "awe" with the quality, texture, pigmentation, and finishes that these blushes/bronzer have to offer. At $6 a piece, I feel as if you are truly getting your moneys worth! The only con to these babies, are the brushes they come with! Like many of the drugstore brushes that are included w/ blushes/bronzers, they are very scratchy and flimsy!

New: Hard Candy Products

Long time no post! I have a lot to show/tell you, so lets get right to it! By now, many of you have probably seen these products at your local Walmart.The following photos are some of the newer products Hard Candy has recently released. I know that HC came out with new mascaras, lip glosses, cheek tints etc, but I still haven't seen them at my Walmart. -_- Nonetheless, I was still excited because I've seen these products online even before they were available in stores, so I was super excited to see them in person!

 

These babies are the ones i have been waiting for the most!

I picked up a few of these blushes/bronzers, check back soon for my mini haul + review!

Quick Post

I've been MIA for quite sometime now; hence, my lack of posting. -_- I've just been realllly busy w/ life&family. I'll be back tomorrow with a Hard Candy Haul + Review on a few of their newer products(Fox in a Box etc...) that I've picked up over the past 2 weeks. Talk to you then!

Review: Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love Top Coat

It always amazes me how a "glossy" nail polish can instantly transform into a matte finish. As far as matte top coats go, I only own the China Glaze Matte Magic.

I am a HUGE fan of Hard Candy! I own the Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer, Face Primer, and a few of their polishes. I've always wanted to try the Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love Top Coat, but every Wal-Mart I went to, always seemed to be sold out! So I was extremely excited to receive a bottle from Hard Candy!

$4.00 at Walmart & walmart.com

I decided to go ahead and apply the matte topcoat directly onto my current manicure, since it already had a glossy top coat to it. I wanted to see if in fact the Matte top coat would still be able to transform my ultra glossy Sally Hansen top coat.

  

Sure enough, it did!

1 coat was all I needed to achieve this matte finish. I had no trouble applying the polish; the formula was smooth and streak-free . It dried rather quickly (which is another thing I love about this polish) to a soft matte finish. What's even more amazing is that I was actually able to see the transform in action!

 I also did my "water test". Water test?! This means that I observe how well polishes work under different circumstances; showers, washing dishes, etc! I wore this the entire day yesterday and didn't experience any chipping!

Overall, if matte nail polishes are something you like, I think you may LOVE this! For those who have never tried matte top coats or are curious, I encourage you to head out to your nearest Wal-Mart ASAP and try to find these little gems! The name really does speak for itself! This is a definite keeper in my book! Hope this helps!
